Carp Expert Smart Spod Rod 3.75m 5lb IM5 Carbon Spodding Marker Rod

Carp Expert Smart Spod Rod 3.75m 5lb is a dedicated spodding rod designed for accurate and efficient baiting at long range. Built specifically for the demanding carp angler, this rod combines a powerful blank with a practical handle configuration to make spodding and marker work more controlled and less tiring.

The blank is constructed from high-quality IM5 carbon fibre, a material chosen for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio. This makes the rod light in the hand yet remarkably strong and durable, allowing you to cast heavy spods and markers repeatedly without excessive fatigue. The IM5 carbon lay-up also helps the rod retain its crisp, responsive feel under load.

A key feature is the practical double handle, which provides extra leverage and grip during powerful casting strokes. This is particularly useful when you need to compress the rod and launch a loaded spod or marker float accurately to distant spots. The handle design supports a smooth, controlled casting action rather than a snatched or unbalanced one.

The rod is fitted with a classic screw-down reel seat, which holds the reel securely and is quick and easy to adjust. This traditional fitting is favoured by many carp anglers for its reliability and simple operation in the field.

SIC guides are used throughout the build. These hard-wearing ceramic guides help reduce line friction during the cast and retrieve, which can contribute to smoother line flow and less wear on your main line over time. They are well suited to the repeated heavy casting associated with spodding.

At 3.75 m (12 ft 4 in) with a 5 lb test curve, this rod is a strong choice for long-range spodding and baiting. The length and power give you the reach and authority needed to place bait accurately at distance, making it a useful tool for building a swim or keeping a baited area topped up.

Whether you are introducing particles, pellets or groundbait at range, the Carp Expert Smart Spod Rod is built to handle the workload. Its combination of IM5 carbon construction, double handle, screw-down reel seat and SIC guides makes it a practical, durable option for the serious carp angler.
