Drennan Micro Barbed Carbon Match Hooks Size 16 18 Coarse Fishing Hook

Drennan Micro Barbed Carbon Match hooks are a versatile, lightweight pattern designed for the demanding match angler who needs reliable hooking and secure bait presentation. Built around a strong spade-end design with a long, sloping point, these hooks are well suited to a wide range of natural baits, from chopped worms to bread flake and other soft offerings.

The carbon match pattern is a proven choice for float and pole fishing on stillwaters and slow-moving rivers, where a fine, lightweight hook helps baits behave naturally and encourages confident takes. The micro barb is a subtle retaining barb that helps keep soft baits in place and reduces the chance of the hook pulling free during the fight, while remaining easy to remove from the fish.

The long, sloping point is a key feature of this pattern. It is designed to penetrate cleanly and hold securely, making it a dependable option when fishing with delicate baits that can otherwise slip or fall apart on the cast. The strong spade-end shape gives the hook a robust structure without adding unnecessary weight, so it remains suitable for light line and fine presentations.

These hooks are supplied in packs of 10 and are available in a choice of sizes, allowing you to match the hook to the bait and the target species. Smaller sizes are ideal for small baits and shy-biting fish, while larger sizes in the range give you the flexibility to present bigger offerings when conditions demand it.

Whether you are fishing a commercial fishery, a natural lake or a canal, the Drennan Micro Barbed Carbon Match hook is a practical, all-round choice for anglers who want a lightweight hook with dependable hooking potential and good bait retention.
