Gamakatsu Single 31 Hooks for Soft Lures & Free-Rig Fishing

Gamakatsu Single 31 are Japanese-made single hooks developed specifically for mounting soft lures securely. The barbs on the back of the hook shank keep the lure firmly in place so it does not slide down during the retrieve, helping the bait stay correctly presented cast after cast.

The hook features a large eye, which makes it easy to thread and allows it to be used with a wide range of rigs and hooklink materials. This design is particularly well suited to free-rig fishing, where the hook is fished without a traditional weight directly on the hooklink.

Because the hook is fished on a free-rig system, it gives you the option to change the weight without changing the lure or the hook. This makes it a practical choice when you need to adapt quickly to different depths, distances or conditions while keeping the same bait presentation.

The Gamakatsu Single 31 is widely regarded as one of the best hooks for free-rig presentations. Its single-hook design also helps reduce snagging compared with treble hooks, which can be an advantage when fishing around soft cover or in weedy areas.

The hooks are available in a range of sizes to suit different lure types and target species. Please select your preferred size from the options above.
