Gamakatsu Worm Offset EWG Hooks – Wide Gape Soft Lure Hooks for Big Baits
Gamakatsu Worm Offset EWG are large, Japanese-made offset worm hooks designed for big soft lures. The elongated hook shape helps to avoid missed strikes, while the raised step on the shank keeps the lure securely in place and prevents it from sliding down.
These hooks are exceptionally sharp and strong, featuring a barb and a large eye. The offset design is ideal for rigging bulky soft plastics such as worms, creature baits and swimbaits, allowing the lure to sit straight and swim naturally.
The wide gape (EWG) provides plenty of room for the hook point to clear the body of the lure on the strike, which can improve hook-up ratios when fishing with thick, soft baits. The offset bend also helps the hook to track correctly through the water and reduces the chance of the bait balling up on the cast.
Gamakatsu is renowned for the quality of its hook wire and sharpness, and these hooks are no exception. They are suitable for a range of freshwater and saltwater applications where large soft lures are used, such as bass, pike, zander and other predatory species.
