Madcat Subfloat 40g Submersible Float for Catfish Fishing

Madcat Subfloat 40g is a specialised submersible float designed for catfish fishing. Unlike conventional surface floats, this model is intended to fish below the surface, allowing you to present a bait at a precisely controlled depth in the water column.

The submersible design is the defining feature of the Subfloat. By positioning the bait at a set depth rather than on the surface, it gives the angler direct control over where the hookbait sits in relation to the bottom, structure or the depth at which catfish are actively feeding. This makes it a practical tool when catfish are holding in mid-water or when you want to keep a bait suspended off the bottom.

With a weight of 40 g, the Subfloat is suited to presenting larger baits and to fishing situations where a heavier float is required to hold position and cast effectively. The weight also helps the float sink and stay at the chosen depth rather than drifting up towards the surface.

The Subfloat is a rig component rather than a bite indicator in the traditional sense. It is used to set the fishing depth, and the angler detects takes through the rod and line in the usual way. This makes it a straightforward addition to a catfish rig, particularly for anglers who want to fish a bait at a specific level rather than hard on the bottom.

Because it is a submersible float, it is well suited to catfish fishing from the bank or from a boat, in stillwaters and slow-moving rivers where a controlled bait depth is an advantage. It can be used with a range of natural and prepared baits, depending on the rig and the venue.

If you are looking for a simple, purpose-built way to fish a bait at a set depth for catfish, the Madcat Subfloat 40g offers a direct solution. Its submersible design and 40 g weight make it a useful component in a catfish angler's tackle box.
