MadCat Screaming Profi River Rig Worm & Squid Catfish Rig 180cm 1mm 6/0 45kg

MadCat Screaming Profi River Rig Worm & Squid is a ready-tied bait rig developed specifically for catfish anglers fishing flowing waters with worms or squid strips. Rather than building a rig from scratch on the bank, you can attach this pre-assembled system and present your bait with confidence in strong current.

The rig is built around a 1 mm Ultra-Soft Mono hooklength. The soft mono construction allows the bait to behave naturally in the water, so worms and squid strips can move and flutter as they would without a stiff, heavy trace restricting them. This natural presentation is particularly valuable in rivers, where catfish often inspect a bait before taking it properly.

Despite its supple feel, the hooklength is very strong and is designed to cope with large catfish. The rig is rated to withstand up to 45 kg, giving you a serious margin when a big fish makes a powerful run in the current.

The float is fitted with wings that rotate in the flow. As the current turns the wings, they create vibration and movement in the water. This added disturbance helps draw the attention of catfish and can provoke a reaction from fish holding in the swim. It is a useful edge when fishing turbulent, coloured or fast-moving rivers where visual attraction alone is limited.

The system is finished with very sharp, strong hooks in size 6/0. Sharp points help ensure a secure hook hold, while the strong wire is matched to the demands of catfish fishing. The complete rig measures 180 cm in length, giving a generous hooklength for natural bait movement and confident presentation in flowing water.

This rig is aimed at catfish anglers who fish rivers and other waters with current, using worms or squid strips as bait. It is a practical choice for anglers who want a reliable, ready-made presentation that can be cast or lowered into position without time-consuming rig tying.
