Shimano Aero BB 4000-5000 Reel XT-7 G-Free Hagane X-Ship Float Feeder

Shimano Aero BB 4000-5000 is a new-generation reel designed for float anglers and feeder fishing enthusiasts who demand reliable performance and smooth operation. The distinctive reel design pairs perfectly with most Shimano rods, and especially with rods from the Aero series, creating a balanced and visually coordinated setup.

The range of available reel sizes makes the Aero BB suitable for a wide variety of fishing situations. The smaller sizes are ideal for float fishing or for feeder fishing at close range with small feeders, where a compact and lightweight reel is an advantage. The larger sizes allow long casts and comfortable fishing even with heavy feeders, giving you the confidence to fish at distance when conditions demand it.

The Anti-Reverse system helps you stay in control when playing larger fish, preventing the rotor from turning backwards and allowing you to apply steady pressure during the fight. This is a valuable feature when targeting bigger specimens on both float and feeder tactics.

The reel is fitted with an easily locked metal line clip, which helps you cast your feeder accurately to the exact spot you want to fish. This is particularly useful when baiting a swim precisely or when fishing to a feature such as a gravel bar or marginal shelf.

Inside the XT-7 G-Free body, Shimano has installed advanced Cold Forged Hagane gearing and the X-Ship system. These technologies work together to deliver smooth winding performance and efficient power transfer, which is especially noticeable when retrieving under load or when playing a hard-fighting fish.

Every model in this reel range comes with a plastic backing, which helps reduce the spool capacity so that even the finest braided lines can be laid evenly and consistently. This is a practical detail for anglers who prefer braid for feeder work or who want to minimise line slip on the spool.

With its combination of modern Shimano technology, accurate line control and a choice of sizes, the Aero BB is a versatile choice for float and feeder anglers looking for dependable performance across a range of venues and conditions.
