Shimano TX Extreme Spod & Marker Rod 3.96m 5lb HPC Spod Rod

Shimano TX Extreme Spod & Marker is a high-quality, extremely powerful spod and marker rod designed for carp anglers who need to cast heavy spods, markers and bait rockets with precision and confidence. Built around a lightweight HPC (High Pressure Carbon) blank and reinforced with 3K carbon wraps, this rod delivers outstanding rigidity and casting power while retaining the sensitivity required for accurate feature finding and bait placement.

The rod's weight-to-power ratio has been carefully optimised, allowing you to achieve exceptional distances with minimal effort. Whether you are spodding out a bed of particles, casting a marker float to map the lakebed, or placing a bait rocket accurately at range, the TX Extreme Spod & Marker provides the backbone and balance needed for demanding carp sessions.

The responsive tip section recovers quickly after the cast, helping you maintain control and feel exactly what is happening at the business end. This quick recovery also aids in detecting subtle indications when using the rod as a marker, making it easier to interpret the lakebed and locate productive spots.

Fitted with PacBay CSV guides, the rod ensures exceptionally smooth line flow during the cast, reducing friction and helping you achieve maximum distance. The guides are designed to handle the heavy loads associated with spodding and marker work, giving you confidence when fishing at long range.

The rod features a DPS reel seat, which locks your reel securely in place and provides a solid, wobble-free connection. The slim, long EVA handle offers excellent grip even with wet hands, and its length gives you the leverage needed for powerful casting strokes. The handle design also contributes to comfortable rod control throughout the retrieve and when playing fish.

With a length of 3.96 m and a 5 lb test curve, this rod is purpose-built for serious spodding and marker work. It is equally at home on large inland waters, gravel pits and syndicate lakes where distance and accuracy are essential. The combination of advanced carbon construction, quality components and thoughtful ergonomics makes the Shimano TX Extreme Spod & Marker a reliable tool for carp anglers who refuse to compromise on range or control.
