Smelt Fishing Rig Phosphorescent Glowing Oat Lure 0.10g 1.8cm Sharp Hooks

Smelt Fishing Rig Phosphorescent Glowing Oat Lure is a specialised terminal tackle item designed for smelt fishing, often referred to as oat lure or avižėlė-style rigs. This ready-tied rig features phosphorescent materials that glow in the dark, making it highly effective for targeting smelt during low-light conditions, night sessions, or in deep water where natural light is limited. The glowing effect attracts fish and triggers strikes, giving anglers a distinct advantage when fishing for this popular species.

The rig is built around sharp hooks that ensure reliable hooksets and reduce the chance of fish throwing the hook. The hook points are designed to penetrate quickly and hold securely, which is essential when targeting smelt, a species known for its delicate bite and rapid movements. The overall construction is lightweight yet durable, allowing the rig to be fished effectively with light tackle.

Each rig weighs just 0.10 g and measures 1.8 cm in length, making it a compact and subtle presentation. This small profile is ideal for finicky fish and can be used with a variety of light fishing methods, including float fishing, bottom fishing, or jigging. The low weight ensures that the rig sinks slowly and naturally, mimicking the movement of small prey and enticing smelt to bite.

The phosphorescent coating is a key feature that sets this rig apart. It charges quickly in natural or artificial light and emits a soft glow that remains visible for extended periods. This glow is particularly effective in murky water or during night fishing, where visual cues are limited. Anglers can further enhance the glow by exposing the rig to a torch or UV light before casting.

This smelt rig is available in four proven colours: White, Red, Green, and Yellow. Each colour offers different visibility and contrast under varying water conditions and light levels. White and yellow are excellent for clear water and bright conditions, while red and green can be more effective in low light or stained water. Having multiple colour options allows anglers to adapt to the preferences of the fish and the specific environment.

The rigs are supplied ready to use, saving time on the bank and ensuring consistent presentation. They are suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers who target smelt in estuaries, coastal waters, or freshwater venues. The combination of glowing properties, sharp hooks, and realistic size makes this rig a valuable addition to any smelt angler's tackle box.
