Assist Specialist Barbless Single Hooks for Lures 2pcs Size 8 Trout Fishing

Assist Specialist Barbless Single Hooks for Lures are specialist replacement hooks designed for use with hard lures and wobblers. Supplied in packs of two, these single hooks offer a practical alternative to standard treble hooks, particularly where reduced snagging and easier fish release are important.

Each hook is constructed from stiff and long-lasting Assist Cord with a fluorocarbon core, a combination that provides excellent rigidity and durability. The fluorocarbon core helps the hook retain its shape under pressure, so even when you are forcing a fish during the fight, the hook is far less likely to bend out or straighten. This gives you greater confidence when playing hard-fighting fish close to cover or in strong currents.

The hooks are UV coated, which adds an extra layer of protection to the cord and helps maintain the integrity of the hook assembly over repeated sessions. The coating also contributes to the overall longevity of the rig, making these hooks a reliable choice for anglers who fish regularly.

A key feature of these hooks is the elastic loop. This flexible attachment point helps to reduce the chance of a fish throwing the hook during the fight, as the loop absorbs some of the shock and movement. This is particularly useful when targeting fish that jump or shake their heads aggressively.

As barbless single hooks, they offer two main advantages. First, they are much less likely to snag on bottom obstructions, weeds and other structure compared to treble hooks, allowing you to fish more confidently in snaggy or weedy venues. Second, the barbless design makes unhooking quicker and less damaging to the fish, which is ideal for catch-and-release fishing and waters where barbless hooks are mandatory.

The size 8 hook is well suited to trout lures in the 50–60 mm range, making these hooks a good match for small to medium wobblers and hard baits used for trout and similar predatory species. The hook size provides a good balance between holding power and a natural presentation.

These hooks are available in a range of different sizes, allowing you to match the hook to your chosen lure and target species. Whether you are replacing worn trebles on your favourite trout lure or setting up a new rig, the Assist Specialist Barbless Single Hooks offer a durable, fish-friendly and snag-resistant solution.
