Aurora Ice Fishing Line 50m Sinking Mono Ice Clear 0.08-0.18mm

Aurora Ice Fishing Line 50m is a monofilament line developed specifically for ice fishing, where cold water, fine presentation and reliable knot strength all matter. Supplied on a 50 m spool in an Ice Clear finish, it is designed to sit discreetly in clear, cold water while offering the dependable handling that dedicated ice anglers expect.

The line is sinking, which helps it cut through the surface and settle naturally beneath the ice rather than being held up by surface tension or wind. This supports a more direct connection to the bait and can be useful when fishing small jigs, spoons or baited hooks at controlled depths.

Low memory is one of the key characteristics of the Aurora Ice Fishing Line. In practice, reduced memory means the line is less likely to retain tight coils from the spool, so it hangs straighter and behaves more predictably on the retrieve. This is particularly valuable in freezing conditions, where stiff or coiled line can make bite detection and bait presentation harder to manage.

The line is also described as good at holding knots. For ice fishing, where fine diameters and small hooks are common, secure knot performance is essential. A line that knots reliably gives anglers more confidence when tying hooklengths, jig heads and swivels, and helps reduce the risk of failure at the knot under pressure.

The Ice Clear colour is intended to blend into clear, cold water. This low-visibility presentation can be advantageous in pressured or highly transparent venues where fish may be cautious. The monofilament construction provides a balance of manageability and strength across the available diameters.

The Aurora Ice Fishing Line is available in six diameters to suit different ice fishing situations, from ultra-fine presentations to slightly stronger set-ups. The range includes 0.08 mm, 0.10 mm, 0.12 mm, 0.14 mm, 0.16 mm and 0.18 mm, with breaking strains from 0.92 kg up to 3.7 kg. This allows anglers to match the line to the target species, bait size, depth and the amount of pressure likely to be applied.

Typical uses include vertical jigging through the ice, fishing with small spoons, balance jigs, mormyshkas and baited hooks. The sinking, low-memory behaviour and clear colour make it a practical choice for anglers who need a dedicated ice line rather than a general-purpose monofilament.
