Velniukas Ice Fishing Rig 30-60g Perch Jigging Lure Bait System

Velniukas Ice Fishing Rig 30-60g is a popular ice fishing system designed specifically for targeting perch. This rig is a classic choice for anglers who fish through the ice and want a reliable, effective presentation that triggers aggressive strikes from perch and other predatory fish.

The rig works by jigging the weight against the bottom, which creates a disturbance and sound that attracts fish. This bottom-contact action mimics the behaviour of small prey items stirring up the sediment, drawing the attention of nearby perch. The combination of vibration, sound and visual disturbance makes this rig highly effective in cold water conditions when fish are less active.

The bait is raised and lowered in a rhythmic jigging motion, while the hooks attached to the line or loop move and imitate small baitfish or insects. This movement is key to triggering the predatory instinct of perch, encouraging them to strike. The design allows for a natural presentation that looks and feels like a genuine food source.

Available in four weights – 30g, 40g, 50g and 60g – this rig can be matched to different fishing conditions. Lighter weights are ideal for shallow water or calm conditions, while heavier weights allow for fishing in deeper water or when there is a current. This versatility makes the Velniukas rig suitable for a wide range of ice fishing scenarios.

The rig is simple to use and requires no complex setup. It can be fished with a variety of rods and reels, making it accessible to both beginners and experienced ice anglers. The compact size and effective action make it a staple in many ice fishing tackle boxes.

Whether you are fishing for perch in a local lake or exploring new ice fishing spots, the Velniukas rig offers a proven design that has been trusted by anglers for years. Its ability to attract fish through sound and movement makes it a valuable addition to any ice fishing arsenal.
