Oat Hook No. 8 for Vimba Fishing – Glow Bead & Coloured Weighted Rig

Oat Hook No. 8 for Vimba Fishing is a specialised ready-tied rig designed for targeting vimba (also known as zährte or vimba bream) in both float and bottom fishing presentations. This compact hook rig combines a fluorescent bead with a coloured galvanised weight, creating a highly visible and attractive offering that stands out in the water.

The fluorescent bead glows in the dark, while the coloured galvanised weight reflects light, producing a dual visual attraction that draws the attention of vimba from a distance. This is particularly effective in low-light conditions, coloured water or during dawn and dusk sessions when vimba are actively feeding.

The rig is built around a size 8 hook, a popular choice for vimba fishing where a relatively small, fine presentation is required. The hook is paired with a lightweight 0.2 g weight, allowing the rig to be fished delicately without spooking cautious fish. The combination of the glowing bead and the reflective coloured weight gives anglers a distinct advantage over a standard plain hook.

Anglers fishing with this oat hook rig often report more productive sessions compared to using a conventional hook, as the added visual stimuli trigger the natural curiosity and feeding response of vimba. The rig is suitable for both float fishing and bottom fishing methods, making it a versatile addition to any vimba angler's tackle box.

The oat hook is available in a choice of colours to suit different water conditions and personal preferences. The coloured weight options allow anglers to match the rig to the prevailing light, water clarity and the natural food sources present in the swim.
