Pro FL Lead Core Leader 70cm Carp Rig Hooklink 2pcs Silt Gravel Safe

Pro FL Lead Core Leader 70cm is a ready-made lead core leader designed for tying carp and bottom fishing rigs. The lead core construction gives the leader a heavy, supple and abrasion-resistant character, which is exactly what is needed when fishing over gravel, silt, stones or mussel beds where a standard monofilament or braided hooklink can quickly become damaged.

The main advantage of a lead core leader is the protection it offers at the business end of the rig. Because the leader is built around a weighted core, it sinks and follows the lakebed contours closely, keeping the last section of the rig pinned down and out of the way of passing fish. This helps to reduce the risk of the line being cut or torn during the fight, particularly when carp run over rough ground or rub against snags.

Each leader measures 70cm, a practical length for a wide range of carp and bottom rigs. It is long enough to provide a genuine protective buffer between the main line and the hooklink, yet short enough to remain manageable when casting and setting up. The leader can be used with a variety of popular rig presentations, including lead clip systems, inline leads and running rigs.

The pack contains 2 leaders, giving you a spare for a second rod or a replacement after a session. This is useful for anglers who like to keep pre-tied rigs ready to go, so that a damaged leader can be swapped quickly without interrupting the fishing.

Lead core leaders are a well-established choice for carp anglers and specimen hunters who fish waters with gravel bars, silt pockets, weed and other abrasive features. The weighted core helps the leader settle naturally on the bottom, while the outer braid protects the inner core and provides a durable surface that stands up to repeated contact with the lakebed.

When tying your rig, the leader can be attached to the main line with a suitable leader knot or connector, and the hooklink can then be added using your preferred system. Always check the leader for damage after each fish and replace it if the outer braid has been cut, frayed or weakened.
