Shimano Cardiff Fuwatoro 35F 2.5g Floating Trout Lure 35mm 0-0.5m

Shimano Cardiff Fuwatoro 35F is a floating minnow-style lure developed specifically for trout fishing. Measuring just 35 mm and weighing 2.5 g, it is a compact, lightweight presentation that suits light spinning tackle and finesse approaches on rivers, streams and stillwaters where trout are pressured and cautious.

The defining characteristic of the Cardiff Fuwatoro 35F is its ability to produce a tight vibrating action even when retrieved extremely slowly. This slow-speed wobble and roll creates a subtle but constant disturbance in the water, which is highly attractive to trout and encourages them to commit to the lure rather than simply following it. The action remains effective on a straight, steady retrieve as well as when the lure is twitched or paused.

As a floating lure, the Cardiff Fuwatoro 35F sits on the surface at rest and can be worked across the top layer of the water column. Its stated diving depth of 0-0.5 m makes it a useful choice for fishing shallow runs, riffles, the edges of weed beds and other areas where trout hold close to the surface. Because it floats, it can also be paused over structure and then twitched back into action, a technique that often triggers reaction bites from following fish.

The 35 mm body length and 2.5 g weight place this lure firmly in the ultralight category. It casts well on light spinning rods and is well matched to fine braid or monofilament, allowing the angler to present a small, natural-looking profile without sacrificing control. The compact size is particularly effective when trout are feeding on small baitfish, insects or other diminutive prey.

The Cardiff Fuwatoro 35F is available in a range of proven trout-catching colour patterns, including Green Tea, Strawberry, Olive, Pellet, Pnk Pellet and Lime. This selection allows anglers to match the hatch, adapt to water clarity and light conditions, or simply choose a high-visibility pattern when fishing coloured water.

In practical terms, this is a lure for anglers who target trout in streams, small rivers, canals and stillwaters with light gear. Its slow-speed action makes it especially useful in cold water or on heavily fished venues where a fast retrieve is less effective. Whether fished with a steady wind, a stop-and-go cadence or short twitches, the Cardiff Fuwatoro 35F is designed to keep drawing attention from trout.
