Hunter Junior 23SS 2.2g Sinking Lure 23mm Chub Perch Crankbait Fishing

Hunter Junior 23SS 2.2g is a compact sinking lure developed specifically for chub fishing, and it also proves highly effective for perch. Its combination of natural, fish-attracting colours, a textured body and a distinctive profile gives it a clear edge in pressured waters where fish have seen plenty of standard lures.

The 23 mm body and 2.2 g weight make the Junior 23SS a true micro lure. It casts well on light spinning tackle and can be worked slowly and precisely, which is exactly what is needed when chub and perch are holding tight to cover or feeding cautiously in clear water.

The sinking (SS) construction means the lure continues to descend on the pause. This allows you to fish it at different depths, count it down to the required layer and keep it in the strike zone for longer. It is a particularly useful trait when fish are sitting deep or when you need to search the water column systematically.

Hunter has given the Junior a textured body finish and a distinctive body shape. Together these features create a more natural, lifelike presence in the water and help the lure stand out from plain, smooth-bodied crankbaits. The aggressive action is designed to draw attention and trigger a reaction, whether the lure is retrieved steadily, twitched or paused.

The Junior 23SS performs well in both still and flowing water. In rivers it can be cast upstream and worked back with the current, while in lakes and ponds it can be fished along the bank, around structure or over open water. This versatility makes it a practical lure to keep in the box for a range of light spinning sessions.

Although it was created with chub in mind, the Hunter Junior 23SS is also a very effective perch lure. Its small profile and lively action appeal to perch of all sizes, and it is equally suitable for other small predatory fish that feed on fry and insects.

The lure is available in several colour options, including AL, ALH, OLH, OR and PAR. These natural and proven patterns allow you to match the hatch, the water clarity and the light conditions on the day.
