Winter Rods

Lucky John C-Tech Jig Light 55cm is a telescopic ice fishing rod built for anglers who demand a light, sensitive and reliable tool for vertical jigging through the ice. Its compact design and responsive blank make it an excellent choice for targeting perch, zander and other predatory fish in cold-water conditions.

The blank is constructed from 24T graphite, a material known for its favourable balance of low weight and responsiveness. This allows the rod to transmit even subtle takes and lure movements directly to the angler's hand, which is essential when fishing without a bite indicator. The blank has a medium-stiff action, providing enough backbone to set the hook while retaining the sensitivity needed for finesse presentations.

Fitted with stainless steel guides, the rod is well suited to the demands of winter fishing. Stainless steel resists corrosion and performs reliably in freezing conditions, helping to reduce the risk of ice build-up affecting line flow through the guides.

The frost-resistant reel is designed to keep working when temperatures drop, a crucial detail for ice anglers who may be fishing in sub-zero conditions for extended periods. The cork handle offers a comfortable, secure grip and provides natural insulation against the cold, making the rod pleasant to hold during long sessions on the ice.

Weighing just 22 g, the C-Tech Jig Light is exceptionally light in the hand, reducing fatigue during repeated jigging motions. Its transport length of 33 cm makes it easy to pack into a rucksack or rod bag, while the telescopic construction allows for quick setup and breakdown on the ice.

This rod is designed for vertical jigging without a bite indicator, making it ideal for use with balance jigs, spoons and other vertical lures. The sensitive blank allows the angler to feel the lure's action and detect even cautious bites, which is particularly valuable when fish are less active in cold water.

Whether you are fishing a local lake, reservoir or river through the ice, the Lucky John C-Tech Jig Light 55cm offers a practical combination of portability, sensitivity and winter-ready construction.

Lucky John LDR 36cm Ice Fishing Rod is a compact, lightweight winter rod built for anglers who want a dependable, versatile tool for ice fishing. Made from high-quality plastic and supplied as a two-piece rod, it combines a short 36 cm length with a practical EVA handle, making it easy to carry, set up and use in cold-weather conditions.

The two-piece construction is a real advantage for the mobile ice angler. The rod breaks down into two sections for convenient transport in a rucksack or rod bag, yet assembles quickly once you reach your chosen spot. At 36 cm, the rod is short enough to fish comfortably over a drilled hole while remaining manageable when you are moving between swims.

The EVA handle provides a secure, comfortable grip. EVA is a popular choice for winter rods because it offers a firm hold even when your hands are cold or damp, and it is easy to wipe clean after a session. This helps you maintain control during delicate presentations and when playing fish through the ice.

Because the rod is described as lightweight and multifunctional, it suits a wide range of ice fishing methods. It can be used for jigging with a balance lure or a vertical jig, and it is equally suitable for float fishing through the ice. This versatility means you can cover different approaches with a single rod rather than carrying several specialised setups.

The reel diameter is 7.5 cm, giving a compact reel that matches the short rod and keeps the whole outfit balanced and easy to handle. The small reel size is well suited to the close-range, controlled presentations typical of ice fishing.

Whether you are targeting perch, roach or other winter species, the Lucky John LDR 36cm Ice Fishing Rod is a practical choice for anglers who value a light, portable and adaptable winter rod.

Akara Winter Ice Fishing Rod is a specialised, bobber-free ice rod built for anglers who target bream and other delicate-biting species through the ice. Its lightweight carbon construction and minimalist design make it a highly sensitive tool for detecting even the softest takes in cold water.

The rod features a carbon fibre blank running through the entire length of the rod, which keeps the overall weight down while maintaining a responsive, sensitive action. At just 13 g, the rod is exceptionally light in the hand, reducing fatigue during long sessions on the ice and allowing the angler to hold the rod ready for instant bite detection.

The EVA handle provides a secure, comfortable grip even with cold, wet hands, and the absence of unnecessary fittings keeps the rod streamlined and free from snag points. This minimalist approach is particularly valuable in bobber-free ice fishing, where every gram and every component can affect sensitivity and balance.

Beneath the drag nut, a Lavsan washer has been fitted to ensure smooth, reliable drag operation. This helps protect light lines when a larger fish makes a sudden run, reducing the risk of line breakage and giving the angler more control during the fight.

With a length of 30 cm, this rod is ideally suited to bobber-free ice fishing for bream and similar species. Its short, sensitive build allows precise presentation of small baits and quick, confident hook sets in confined ice-fishing conditions.

Telescopic Ice Fishing Rod is a compact, purpose-built rod for fishing through the ice. Its telescopic design allows it to collapse down to just 30 cm, making it easy to carry in a rucksack, bucket or sled and quick to deploy once you reach your chosen swim. When fully extended it measures 68 cm, giving you a short, manageable rod that is well suited to the close-quarters presentation typical of ice fishing.

The rod is built around a cork handle, a traditional material valued by anglers for its warm, comfortable grip and secure hold even in cold, wet conditions. Cork also keeps the overall weight low, which matters when you are holding the rod steady over a hole for long periods. At just 53 g, the rod is light enough to hold comfortably for extended sessions without fatigue.

A screw-down reel seat secures the reel firmly to the handle. This type of fitting allows you to mount and remove a reel quickly and to tighten it down so it stays solidly in place while you are playing a fish. The rod is fitted with two guides, which keep the line running cleanly along the blank and help control it during the retrieve.

The telescopic construction means the rod packs away into a very small space, so it is a practical choice for anglers who travel light or who need to move between holes. Because it extends and collapses in seconds, you can reposition quickly as you search for feeding fish.

This rod is designed for ice fishing and can be used in a variety of ways to target different fish through the ice. Whether you are jigging small lures or presenting bait beneath a float, the short length and light weight make it easy to work the presentation precisely over the hole.

The rod features a stiffer rod blank that offers a more direct feel when working lures and helps transmit bites clearly. The increased stiffness also assists with hook sets and gives you better control when a fish makes a run.

Compact, robust and ready for the demands of hard-water fishing, it gives the mobile ice angler a reliable tool that packs down small yet fishes with real authority.

The rod features a cork handle that offers a secure, comfortable grip even in freezing conditions. Cork is a traditional choice for winter rods because it stays warm to the touch and provides dependable control when your hands are cold and wet, making it easier to set the hook and play a fish cleanly.

A solid reel seat holds your ice reel firmly in place, so there is no movement or wobble when you strike or when a big fish makes a run. The blank is built with a stiffer action, which makes this rod an excellent match for fishing with heavier lures and jigs. That extra backbone helps you work larger presentations with confidence and gives you the power to turn a heavy fish away from the hole.

The rod is fitted with two guides and a tip section designed to carry a bite indicator (sargelis). This set-up allows you to fish with a sensitive visual indicator, so even the subtlest takes are easy to spot. Its short 60 cm length makes it easy to control inside a shelter or while kneeling over a drilled hole, and the flexible tip helps transmit even subtle bites.

The rod is built around a flexible tip section that helps you detect the moment a predator takes the lure. This makes the Winter Catch 60UL a practical choice for perch, zander and other winter-active predators when fished with small jigs, spoons or balance lures.

At just 54 g, the rod is very light in the hand, which reduces fatigue during long sessions of repeated jigging. The low weight also helps you keep direct contact with the lure, so you can work it with small, precise movements and feel the bottom structure or a soft take more clearly.

The cork handle gives a comfortable, natural grip that stays pleasant to hold even in cold conditions. Cork is a traditional choice for winter rods because it offers a warm feel in the hand and provides secure control without being slippery. Combined with the short blank, this makes the rod easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces and quick to set when a fish bites.

The rod is fitted with 5 guides, which help keep the line running smoothly along the blank and support accurate lure control. The guide layout is matched to the short length of the rod, making it suitable for light lines and small reels typically used in ice fishing.

13 Fishing Wicked Ice Rod M is a premium-class winter ice fishing spinning rod built from high-grade materials for anglers who demand sensitivity and reliability on the ice. Designed for vertical jigging and finesse presentations through the ice, this rod delivers the responsiveness needed to detect even the subtlest takes in freezing conditions.

The blank is constructed from Toray carbon, a material widely respected in rod building for its favourable strength-to-weight ratio. This allows the rod to remain light in the hand while retaining the backbone required for setting hooks and controlling fish at close range. At just 49 g, the Wicked Ice Rod M reduces fatigue during long sessions of repeated jigging, keeping your presentation active and precise.

Fitted with Evolve Performance guides, the rod is optimised for smooth line flow and reduced friction. These guides help maintain line control when fishing with fine diameters and braided lines, which is essential when targeting wary fish under the ice. The result is improved bite indication and a more direct connection between your hand and the lure.

The EVOLVE reel seat provides a secure and comfortable mounting point for your ice reel. A solid reel seat minimises movement between reel and blank, which translates into better transmission of vibration and a more confident hook set. Combined with the rod's modern design, the Wicked Ice Rod M offers a balanced, purpose-built setup for ice anglers.

With a length of 63 cm, this rod is well suited to fishing in confined spaces such as ice huts and portable shelters. Jaxon Winter Ice Fishing Rod 58.5cm is a lightweight yet sturdy winter spinning rod designed specifically for ice fishing. Weighing only 65 g and measuring 58.5 cm, it is built to be fished comfortably through the ice, where a compact, well-balanced rod makes a real difference to how long you can stay active and how precisely you can present your bait.

The rod is deliberately made without a tip ring (no final guide at the tip). This is a practical design choice for ice anglers: it allows the rod to be used together with a bite indicator (sargelis), which sits at the tip and registers even the most cautious takes. Because the line runs freely off the tip without passing through a tip ring, the indicator can transmit bites clearly and directly, so you can react quickly when a fish picks up the bait.

Thanks to this configuration, the rod is suitable for a wide range of winter lures and presentations. It can be used with devil/vertical jig systems, balance lures and small spoons, giving you flexibility to adapt to the mood of the fish and the conditions on the day. Whether you are fishing actively with a jigging motion or holding the bait steady with a bite indicator, the rod is intended to cover the typical ice fishing approach.

The lightweight construction is a key benefit on the ice. At just 65 g, the rod is easy to hold for extended periods, which helps reduce fatigue during long sessions and allows for more precise control over the lure. The 58.5 cm length keeps the rod compact and manageable in a shelter or when moving between holes, while still providing enough length to work lures effectively and to set the hook when a fish takes.

The rod is described as both light and strong, a combination that matters in winter fishing. Ice fishing often involves short, sharp movements and sudden strikes, so a rod needs to be responsive without feeling fragile. This Jaxon model is built to handle the demands of cold-weather angling while remaining comfortable to use.

In practical terms, this is a rod for anglers who want a simple, reliable ice fishing tool that works with a bite indicator and accepts the most common winter lure types. It is not a general-purpose open-water spinning rod; it is a dedicated winter rod for ice fishing sessions where sensitivity to bites and easy lure presentation are the priorities.

Akara Zander 70cm Ice Fishing Rod is a long and powerful ice rod designed specifically for targeting zander and pike through the ice. Its extended length and robust build make it an excellent choice for anglers who prefer an active, lure-based approach to winter fishing.

This rod is engineered for use with VIB lures, balance jigs and spoons — presentations that demand a rod with enough backbone to impart action to the lure and deliver a decisive hookset when a zander or pike takes. The stiff action of the Akara Zander allows precise lure control and reliable strike penetration, even when fishing with larger, heavier lures in deep water.

One of the standout features of this rod is its four extra-wide guides. These oversized rings are specifically chosen to prevent ice build-up during the coldest winter sessions. Even when using very thick monofilament or braided line, the wide guides allow line to flow freely without clogging or freezing — a common frustration with standard ice rods. This makes the Akara Zander a dependable tool when temperatures drop well below freezing.

The 70cm length provides a distinct advantage over shorter ice rods. The extra reach gives you greater leverage when setting the hook and more control when playing fish near the hole. It also helps keep your line away from the ice edge, reducing the risk of abrasion and break-offs during the critical final stages of the fight.

Whether you are jigging for zander in a frozen lake or targeting pike with larger spoons, the Akara Zander 70cm delivers the power, control and cold-weather reliability needed for serious ice fishing. Its combination of stiff action, wide guides and generous length makes it a practical choice for anglers who refuse to compromise on performance when the water turns to ice.

A sensitive tip is one of the key characteristics of this model. It is designed to register even subtle takes, helping you react quickly when fish are cautious or when using small presentations. The responsive tip works together with the rod's light overall build to transmit information from the lure directly to your hand.

The rod is fitted with wide guides that support smooth line flow and help reduce friction during retrieves. This is especially beneficial in ice fishing, where line management and reliable lure control are important, particularly when fishing in deeper water or when using balanced jigging lures.

The Buster 25'' ML is suitable for targeting perch, pike and other fish when using a balance jig, a devil lure or other small lures. Its medium-light rating makes it a versatile choice for anglers who want one rod for a range of light ice fishing presentations rather than carrying multiple specialised setups.

With its short 61 cm length, the rod is easy to handle in a shelter or when sitting over a hole, and it packs away conveniently for transport. The combination of low weight, cork handle, sensitive tip and wide guides makes it a practical tool for anglers who value feel and control in winter fishing.

Akara Ice Jig Compact is a highly versatile ice fishing rod featuring an integrated bite indicator, designed for anglers who demand sensitivity and reliability on the ice. Its compact two-piece construction makes it easy to transport and store, while the 70 cm length provides enough reach for precise jigging and hook sets.

The rod is built with an EVA handle that offers a comfortable, secure grip even in cold conditions. The reel is attached using plastic rings, a simple and dependable mounting system that keeps the reel firmly in place without adding unnecessary bulk.

One of the standout features is the integrated bite indicator. Because it is built into the rod, the line cannot snag on protruding parts, allowing for smooth, tangle-free fishing. The indicator is soft enough to register even the most delicate bites, yet the rod itself has a stiff action that ensures a solid hook set when a fish takes the bait.

The rod is fitted with large-diameter guides, and the bite indicator also features large rings. This design helps prevent ice build-up in the guides during cold winter days, reducing the need for frequent cleaning and keeping you fishing for longer.

The second section of the blank is flat and tapering towards the tip, a design that contributes to the rod's overall balance and responsiveness. This rod is ideal for fishing with spoons, balance jigs, and devil jigs. By selecting the appropriate stiffness of the bite indicator, it can also be used as a winter feeder rod or for catching smelt.

With a transport length of just 38 cm and a weight of 45 g, the Akara Ice Jig Compact is a practical choice for mobile ice anglers who need a reliable, packable rod that performs across a range of winter fishing techniques.

Akara Winter Ice Fishing Rod Balalaika is a very lightweight ice fishing rod with a slim, refined body, designed for anglers who demand sensitivity and precision on the ice. Its compact 20 cm length and low 15 g weight make it an ideal choice for mobile ice fishing sessions where every gram counts and quick handling is essential.

The rod features a thin, sensitive fibreglass tip that transmits even the most delicate bites. An additional guide ring positioned at the midpoint of the blank helps keep the line under control and significantly reduces the risk of tangling, which is a common problem when fishing with light lines and small lures in cold conditions.

The reel seat and internal reel mechanism are lined with a special cold-resistant silicone coating. Inside the reel, Lavsan (PET) spacers are fitted to ensure smooth, reliable rotation even in sub-zero temperatures. This construction detail is particularly important for winter anglers, as standard lubricants and materials can stiffen or fail in freezing conditions.

With a reel diameter of 43 mm, the Balalaika offers a compact yet functional line capacity suitable for typical ice fishing presentations. The rod is designed to be used with a strike indicator (sargelis), and when set up this way it performs excellently with a wide variety of small jigs and spoons, often referred to as avižėlės in Lithuanian fishing tradition.

The Akara Balalaika is available in three colour options: Red, Green and Yellow. This allows anglers to choose a colour that suits their personal preference or matches their existing ice fishing tackle. The bright colour options also make the rod easier to spot on the ice or in low-light conditions.

Whether you are targeting perch, roach, ruffe or other common winter species, this rod's lightweight construction and sensitive tip make it a practical tool for vertical jigging and indicator-based ice fishing. Its compact dimensions allow it to be stored easily in a small tackle box or pocket, making it a convenient companion for any ice fishing trip.
