Akara Winter Ice Fishing Rod Balalaika 20cm 15g Fibreglass Ice Rod

Akara Winter Ice Fishing Rod Balalaika is a very lightweight ice fishing rod with a slim, refined body, designed for anglers who demand sensitivity and precision on the ice. Its compact 20 cm length and low 15 g weight make it an ideal choice for mobile ice fishing sessions where every gram counts and quick handling is essential.

The rod features a thin, sensitive fibreglass tip that transmits even the most delicate bites. An additional guide ring positioned at the midpoint of the blank helps keep the line under control and significantly reduces the risk of tangling, which is a common problem when fishing with light lines and small lures in cold conditions.

The reel seat and internal reel mechanism are lined with a special cold-resistant silicone coating. Inside the reel, Lavsan (PET) spacers are fitted to ensure smooth, reliable rotation even in sub-zero temperatures. This construction detail is particularly important for winter anglers, as standard lubricants and materials can stiffen or fail in freezing conditions.

With a reel diameter of 43 mm, the Balalaika offers a compact yet functional line capacity suitable for typical ice fishing presentations. The rod is designed to be used with a strike indicator (sargelis), and when set up this way it performs excellently with a wide variety of small jigs and spoons, often referred to as avižėlės in Lithuanian fishing tradition.

The Akara Balalaika is available in three colour options: Red, Green and Yellow. This allows anglers to choose a colour that suits their personal preference or matches their existing ice fishing tackle. The bright colour options also make the rod easier to spot on the ice or in low-light conditions.

Whether you are targeting perch, roach, ruffe or other common winter species, this rod's lightweight construction and sensitive tip make it a practical tool for vertical jigging and indicator-based ice fishing. Its compact dimensions allow it to be stored easily in a small tackle box or pocket, making it a convenient companion for any ice fishing trip.
