Champion Feed CDF Canal Groundbait 1kg Dark Almond Coarse Fishing Bait

Champion Feed CDF Canal Groundbait 1kg is a dark-coloured groundbait from the Champion Feed CDF series, developed under the Champion de France banner for anglers who demand a competitive edge. Part of a range that has earned its reputation in match fishing circles, this mix is built around a rich, sweet profile with a pronounced almond aroma that appeals to a wide variety of coarse fish.

The CDF series is known for its high aromatic content and sweetener-rich formula, and the Canal variant is no exception. The dark colouration makes it a sensible choice for clear or heavily pressured venues where a low-visibility feed can help avoid spooking wary fish. The sweet, nutty scent carries well in the water, drawing fish into the swim and encouraging them to stay and feed confidently.

This groundbait is particularly well suited to running water. Rivers and canals present a constant challenge: feed must hold position long enough to work, yet break down and release attraction at the right rate. The CDF Canal mix is designed with these conditions in mind, making it a practical choice for stick float, waggler and feeder approaches on flowing venues.

One of the key strengths of the CDF range is its compatibility. This groundbait can be blended with any other mix in the Champion Feed CDF series, allowing you to fine-tune colour, texture, aroma and breakdown speed to match the day's conditions. Whether you want a darker, more inert mix for cold water or a livelier, more active blend for warmer conditions, the CDF range gives you the flexibility to adapt.

The 1kg bag offers a generous amount for a session, and the resealable-style packaging helps keep the mix fresh between trips. As with all quality groundbaits, correct mixing is important: add water gradually, allow the mix to stand until it has fully absorbed the moisture, then riddle or break it up to achieve the texture you need. A slightly damp, crumbly mix is usually best for feeder work, while a wetter, more active mix suits balling in on rivers and canals.

In practical terms, this groundbait is aimed at the coarse angler targeting mixed bags on running water. It is equally at home in a match context, where consistent feeding and reliable attraction are essential, and in pleasure sessions where you simply want to draw fish into the swim and keep them there. The sweet almond aroma and dark colour make it a versatile addition to any bait bag.
