Shimano Catana 1000–4000 – Strong, Lightweight & Reliable Spinning Reel

The Shimano Catana is one of the most popular mid-range reels thanks to its excellent balance of durability, smoothness, and precision. Designed for anglers who want quality without a high price tag, the Catana delivers reliable performance for spinning, float fishing, and general freshwater use.

The reel features 2 stainless steel ball bearings + 1 roller bearing, providing smooth operation and solid strength under load. The lightweight aluminium spool offers excellent casting performance, while Dyna Balance technology eliminates vibration during retrieves, making the reel feel exceptionally stable and controlled.

Equipped with Super Stopper II, the anti-reverse engages instantly for solid hooksets. The rear multi-disc drag system operates smoothly and evenly, giving full control when fighting fish. The spool’s V-shaped lip helps achieve longer, more accurate casts with fewer line loops.
