Velniukas Ice Fishing Rig 10-22g Handmade Perch Rig with Two Droppers

Velniukas Ice Fishing Rig is a hand-tied, bite-triggering rig that has been proven over many seasons and is well known among perch anglers. It is built around a weighted body with two droppers tied on strong, sharp hooks, making it a reliable choice for vertical ice fishing presentations.

The rig is designed to attract perch from a distance. As the weight of the rig strikes the bottom, it kicks up a small cloud of sediment, which acts as a visual and sensory attractor. This disturbance can draw the attention of nearby perch and encourage them to move in and investigate the presentation.

Each dropper is tied on a strong, sharp hook, giving the rig a good balance between holding power and hooking efficiency. The hand-tied construction ensures consistent spacing and presentation, which is important when fishing for cautious perch under the ice.

The Velniukas rig is often fished with an additional dropper or fly above the main body. This adds another trigger point in the water column and can be particularly effective when perch are suspended or actively feeding higher up. The extra dropper also increases the visual appeal of the rig without complicating the overall setup.

Available in a choice of weights, the rig can be matched to different depths, current conditions and fishing styles. Lighter weights are useful in shallow water or when a slow, subtle presentation is required, while heavier weights help maintain contact with the bottom in deeper water or when fishing in windy conditions.

This rig is suitable for ice fishing and vertical jigging for perch. Its compact size and hand-tied construction make it a practical addition to any perch angler's tackle box, especially for anglers who fish through the ice and want a proven, ready-to-use presentation.
